How is the Julia Green PTO set up?
The PTO BOARD is comprised of:
PTO Executive Board (President, President-Elect, Past President, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary and Principal), Fundraising Chairs, Parent/Faculty Liaisons, and Numerous other positions. Julia Green also has a Participatory Leadership Committee, which sets long-term goals for the school, and monitors the implementation of these goals. This committee, composed of parents, faculty, staff, and community members, allows several voices to be heard in the decision-making process at Julia Green. Parents are welcome to attend these meetings and/or submit ideas to the committee either in person, via the form of a letter, or through the Suggestion Box in the Lobby.
E3 (Education, Enhancemant and Enrichment) is a new initiative of the PTO. E3 is composed of Friends Committees made up of Julia Green parents who desire to enhance and enrich a particular aspect of Julia Green students' education by giving of their own talents and interests. The members are either organizers of programs throughout the year, such as the math fair; and/or they are listed as a resource for teachers to tap, such as bringing pathology specimens to a grade level studying the human body. We are striving for 100% participation as all parents have something to add, even if it is only a small portion of their time. There are eight committees on which to serve: Literature, World Culture, Science, Math, Arts, Music, Health and Nutrition, and Parent Enrichment and Outreach.
