Hornet Hustle
Friday, April 25, 2025
We are excited to begin preparing for our 11th Annual Hornet Hustle, our Julia Green Marathon! Between Wednesday, March 17th and Friday, April 25th, your child will work toward the big, exciting goal of running or walking 25 miles at school and at home.

On Friday, April 25th, students and families will gather on campus by grade to complete the final marathon mile in a "race" along Vailwood Drive! After the race, you are invited to Gather on the Green for dinner and music.

The objective of the Hornet Hustle is to create healthy exercise habits for strong muscles, to cultivate good sportsmanship, to learn to try your best and, most of all, to HAVE FUN!

This year we are going hybrid and will have digital and paper copy running logs where your child can begin recording miles. Information on these logs will come home on March 17th  after Spring Break. Paper running logs must be returned to school each day in the student folder in order to earn the foot charms. Students are on their honor to record each mile with integrity.

Hornet Hustle is a great fundraiser for our Julia Green PTO. Please help your child find ‘sponsors’ for their running! This can be family members, neighbors, co-workers, etc. It may be a grandmother who says, “I’ll donate $1 for every mile you run!” We are encouraging donations to be made online this year, but will also accept cash or checks, dropped off at the main office in a labeled bag.

Sponsor a CHILD here.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where should we park? Parking is always tight so please plan to arrive early.  Consider carpooling or walking if possible. Wallace Lane, the bus entrance to JG, side lot, and back parking lot will be open for parking.   NO PARKING on Vailwood Drive, Hobbs Road, or in the Redbud neighborhood.

What should spectators do during the race? Please stand along Vailwood Drive to help cheer on all the runners!  We need as many people as possible to encourage our runners on the course!  No pets or strollers allowed to race for safety.

What happens after the race? Bring your picnic blankets to “gather on the green” following the race and enjoy some time with your Julia Green family.  Pack a picnic or purchase from one of this year's food pick up options. More details on pre-order options to come.
